Love Stories

[two_thirds_first]Love Stories – a short film produced in collaboration with lingerie and swimsuit photographer James Lightbown for Lingerie Buyer.

While shooting the Love Stories editorial for the Autumn/Winter 2012 (AW12) edition of Lingerie Buyer we took the opportunity to shoot each set-up once James and the client were happy they had their shots.

As a result we had limited time to shoot each set-up, it was after all a stills shoot. To get as much usable footage as possible, we needed to keep the rig simple and lightweight. This was achieved this by shooting with the Sony FS100 with a select few prime lenses, a Glidetrack slider and a tripod. Some shots were handheld with a simple shoulder rig.

The location, Lordship Park in North London, has really beautiful natural light so this helped keep our set-ups simple. Each set-up was being planned while James was shooting the stills. The process had it’s limitations in that we often had no time to review the takes – so had to just trust that we’d captured what we needed.

All footage was captured on the ATOMOS Ninja and shot using the Frank Glencairn’s G-LOG v1.0 colour profile. The film was then edited in Final Cut Pro and graded in Apple’s Color.

Castrol Honda SBK at Imola

I recently spend some time with the Jonathan Rea and the Castrol Honda SBK team in Imola during round 11 of the SBK Superbike World Championship. I was there with Adam Swords shooting footage for a product launch film for the new Honda 2010 Fireblade (see video below) produced by Crayon.

Today my son emigrated to Australia to live with his mum and finish school. My dad, who lives in South Africa, is out visiting so it seemed a perfect time to shoot a family portrait.

In the studio with Tinchy Stryder

Spent most of my day in the studio with Luke Monaghan shooting a short interview with Tinchy Stryder for a client. Tinchy is an absolute pleasure to work with and really humble. He chatted about his past and the journey he’s traveled to get to where he is today. He’s already a chart topping star, but I’m pretty sure there is a lot more to come from this young talent.

The short interview film will be out later this month. Looking forward to see what Luke puts together.
